Ideally, methods of hazard identification will identify hazards in advance so that their risks can be easily managed. Winslow has measures in place to help ensure that this happens.

Ongoing hazard identification can occur through:

SWMS reviews

inspections

audits

consultation

discussion

observation.

At project level, a project risk workshop will determine the identification of potential hazards and the agreed upon measures to control their risks.

The SWMS should take into account day to day hazards. If a hazard exists that is not identified by the SWMS, the process should be suspended and reported to the supervisor for review and determination of appropriate control measures.

Winslow’s Health & Safety Hazards Register is a fluid document that records hazards and risks in company activities and those that are identified at design stage. It also reviews and updates hazards and risks according to legal requirements, standards and codes of practice.
